On Saturday, June 11, 2016 the DuPage Regional Office of Education was honored to have received the Community Partnership Award, from the DuPage County NAACP. The event held at the Ann Reid Childhood Center in Naperville, was the annual Education Conference hosted by the NAACP.

This year’s conference theme was “Putting a Spotlight on Education and the Focus on Youth”.  The program agenda included a keynote by Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and presentation of the Syd Finley Scholarship Recipients.

In accepting this prestigious award, Dr. Darlene Ruscitti, Regional Superintendent, said, “It is an honor and a privilege to serve our youth in DuPage County. My office has long been a champion of quality education and I see this award as taking that very important construct to an even higher level. The modern world requires our collective efforts in guaranteeing that every child be successful in school and in life. I commend the NAACP for their passion, commitment and dedication to children and their education.”
