This is a terrific opportunity not only to learn the new Illinois Learning Standards in Science and Social Sciences but also to understand how reading, writing, speaking, and listening can be woven together with these content-area standards. In addition, participants will apply their new knowledge to lessons they will design for their own classrooms. Because this training is banded by grade levels (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8), they will be immersed with teachers who will focus on grade-alike instructional targets and assessments.

Click HERE for the Disciplinary Literacy in Science and Social Science Registration. Sessions are limited to 20 slots per grade band.

If you are interested, I urge you to register as soon as possible because there are only 20 slots per grade band. Substitutes for teachers will only be needed for the three face-to-face sessions, but the PD provides 30 clock hours inclusive of the two online components, the Ed Camp on Institute Day, and the culminating Instructional Showcase in April.
