August is National Truancy Prevention Month! 🎒
At the DuPage Regional Office of Education, our Truancy and Attendance Department is starting the school year with a clear message: attendance support begins with connection.
Our team is focused on helping families build strong routines, access the resources they need, and feel supported throughout the school year. We’re also strengthening communication with school districts so we can continue working together on all things attendance and truancy.
Truancy is about support, not punishment.
A few simple habits can make a big difference:
• Build consistent morning and bedtime routines
• Make school attendance a priority
• Communicate early when challenges arise
• Stay connected with teachers and school staff
• Celebrate progress along the way
Every day counts. Every moment matters.
