Equity should be the foundation of what we do for ALL students. It urges us to consider our philosophies and practices with an equity lens. From a keen understanding to a student(s) cultural background and experiences to learning how we can deconstruct implicit biases and become aware of daily microaggressions, equity ensures that we embrace, validate and affirm all the identities of self while transforming toward an equitable system. The DuPage Regional Office of Education offers a wide range of services and networks focused on equity. Such services include an Administrator Academy, on Equity and Excellence, Equity Audits, Professional Learning workshops, personalized coaching and guidance and an Equity University to meet the growing needs of districts and schools to turn equity into action.
