A Partnership Between IPSD 204 and the ROE Offers Students a Flexible and Dedicated Learning Space
Wheaton, IL, May 20, 2025— The DuPage Regional Office of Education (ROE) is pleased to announce that the Center for Student Success, currently located in Addison, will be relocating to the old Indian Plains High School building in Aurora. Classes for the 2025-2026 school year will begin at the new location on August 26, 2025.
The Center for Student Success (CSS) provides vital alternative education programs including Partners for Success (PfS), Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP), and Rebound. These programs are designed to support students who benefit from personalized and flexible learning environments. Serving youth from all across DuPage County, CSS gives students the opportunity to re-engage with their education, develop life and career skills, and build a pathway toward long-term success.
Kathy Ekstand, Director of Student Services at CSS, says relocating to the Indian Plains High School building will ensure students continue to learn in a dedicated school setting that supports their unique needs and growth. “Our focus is always on what’s best for students,” said Ekstrand. “This move gives us the space and structure to deliver our programs effectively and ensure every student has a supportive place to learn and thrive.”
The Indian Plains High School building, located at 1322 N. Eola Road in Aurora, has not been in use for school programming in recent years and was under consideration for demolition. However, Indian Plains School District (IPSD) 204 has maintained the building and utilized it for professional development and administrative purposes. This new partnership between IPSD 204 and the DuPage ROE offers a valuable short-term solution while the ROE continues its search for a permanent, centrally located facility.
“This move gives us the time and flexibility we need to thoughtfully plan for the future of these critical programs,” added Amber Quirk, Regional Superintendent of DuPage County Schools. “We remain committed to finding a long-term solution that meets the evolving needs of our students and community.”
CSS Principal Jeff Gerard expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming transition. “We’ve built a strong, collaborative relationship with Indian Prairie School District 204 over the years, and we’re excited to continue that partnership while supporting students across all 42 school districts in DuPage County,” Gerard said.
