Congratulations to Aditya Badlani, an 8th grader from Butler Junior High, who won the 2017 DuPage County Spelling Bee. Badlani won the Regional Spelling bee in 2016 as well.
The DuPage Regional Office of Education hosted the annual DuPage Spelling Bee which comprised of 27 students ranging from 4th to 8th grade.
Round Six started with eight spellers and seven spellers went out. Aditya correctly spelled his word and needed to spell one more word correctly in Round 7 and he did – “yawmeter” – an instrument for measuring the angular motion about the normal axis of an airplane.
A big thank you goes out to Wheaton North High School, the judges, teachers, parents and all who helped coordinate this event.
